Custom Leather and Puffer Jackets: Sourcing Outerwear from Pakistan
Leather and puffer jackets are the two heaviest categories we manufacture. Because the materials themselves cost more and vary more in grade, we quote them differently from everything else in our catalog. So getting the material grade right at the quote stage matters: it avoids a mismatch between what a buyer expected and what actually arrives.
Leather jacket material options
We produce leather jackets in both genuine leather and PU (synthetic) leather, and we price and quote the two separately. Genuine leather costs more, varies slightly in grain from hide to hide, and takes longer to source in bulk. PU leather, on the other hand, stays consistent piece to piece, costs less, and is easier to match exactly across a large order. So tell us which one you want at the quote stage, since it changes both price and lead time.
- Genuine leather: natural grain variation, higher cost, longer sourcing time for large orders
- PU leather: consistent finish across units, lower cost, faster to source in bulk
- Lining: polyester or quilted fleece, depending on the season the jacket is designed for
- Hardware: zips, snaps, and studs can be finished in your choice of metal tone
Puffer jacket fill and shell fabric
We build puffer jackets from a shell fabric, usually 180 to 240 GSM polyester or nylon, quilted over a synthetic fiberfill insulation. We measure fill weight separately from the shell GSM, and it typically runs 100 to 200 grams per square meter depending on how warm the jacket needs to be. Because a heavier fill adds bulk, confirm the intended climate before locking in the fill weight.
Windbreakers and denim jackets
Windbreakers use a lighter, water-resistant polyester shell, usually 90 to 140 GSM. We build them for wind and light rain rather than cold. Denim jackets, on the other hand, use a cotton denim weight typically between 300 and 400 GSM, heavier than most of our other outerwear. They take embroidery well, but sublimation printing does not work on denim.
Branding on outerwear
Embroidery is the standard branding method across all of these jacket types, since printing does not hold up well on leather, PU, quilted, or denim surfaces. So woven or leather patches are a common alternative to direct embroidery, especially on genuine leather, where repeated stitching through the material can weaken it over time.
Ordering process and lead time
Minimum order is 20 units per design. Standard production runs 15 to 25 working days after sample approval and deposit. However, genuine leather orders can run longer, depending on hide sourcing at the time of order. So confirm material grade and lead time together at the quote stage, rather than assuming standard timing applies to leather the same way it does to polyester outerwear.

Common questions about custom leather and puffer jackets
Do you make jackets in genuine leather or only PU leather?
Both. Genuine leather costs more and takes longer to source for large orders. PU leather, however, is faster and more consistent across units. So tell us which one you need at the quote stage.
What is the minimum order for leather or puffer jackets?
20 units per design.
Can you print logos on leather jackets?
Printing does not hold up well on leather or PU surfaces. So we recommend embroidery or a stitched patch instead.
How warm is a standard puffer jacket fill?
Fill weight typically runs 100 to 200 grams per square meter. Tell us the climate the jacket is for and we will recommend a fill weight to match.
